The expression “Online Nikah” describes the remote method of communication; it does not create a separate category of marriage under Pakistani law. The underlying Nikah must still satisfy the applicable Islamic requirements and the legal and documentary requirements relevant to the parties and the intended registration jurisdiction.
Where one or both parties cannot attend personally, a properly executed Special Power of Attorney or other appropriate written authority may provide the practical structure for representation. Video communication can help confirm identity and consent, but the authority of the Wakeel (attorney) or proxy, the Nikah formalities and the documentary record remain central.
An Online Nikah can be arranged in appropriate cases. Before the ceremony, the parties' identity, lawful capacity, free consent, authorised representation where required, witnesses and intended registration route should all be clear.

Section 5 provides that every marriage solemnised under Muslim law shall be registered in accordance with the Ordinance. It also provides for licensed Nikah Registrars and reporting of marriages solemnised by someone other than the Nikah Registrar.

Each matter is evaluated according to the parties, their locations, marital status, personal law, intended registration jurisdiction and later use of the marriage documents.
The bride and groom must understand the marriage and consent freely. Remote communication cannot cure coercion, impersonation or uncertainty about consent.
The lawful marriage age must be checked under the law applicable in the relevant province or territory and the intended registration jurisdiction. We do not arrange underage marriages.

The exact checklist depends on the parties’ nationality, present location, marital status and intended registration jurisdiction. The following documents and particulars are commonly reviewed before the Nikah is scheduled.
Bride and groom: Clear copies of the CNIC, NICOP or passport of each party, according to nationality and current residence.
Current location: Present address, country, city and reliable contact details of both parties.
Photographs: Recent passport-size photographs where required for the Nikah Nama or local registration record.
Previous marital status: Divorce registration certificate, Khula or dissolution decree, or death certificate of the former spouse, where applicable.
Authority for an absent party: A properly drafted Special Power of Attorney or other written authority where a bride or groom will act through a Wakeel or authorised representative.
Witnesses: Names, identity documents and availability of the witnesses required for the Nikah and its documentation.
